* What is Xfire Live Video (Broadcast BETA)? What does it do?
Xfire Live Video allows gamers to share a live video stream of their gaming session with other Xfire users.
* How do I start broadcasting my gaming session using Xfire Live Video?
First you must go into
the Xfire | Tools | Options menu, click the Broadcast (BETA) tab. Check
the box marked "Enable Broadcast". Once you have set up your options,
click OK.
Now go to Xfire Tools | Launch menu and launch the game you wish to
broadcast from. Remember, the game you are trying to Broadcast with
must have Xfire In-Game messaging support.
Once you are in game and verify that Xfire In-Game is enabled, press your key combo (Scroll Lock + B) to begin broadcasting.
Your friends can then highlight your name in their friends list and click on the Video icon that says "Live" in the info view.
You can also see an overview of all users that are currently broadcasting at http://www.xfire.com/live_video/.
* What platforms and browsers are supported?
The application runs on
Windows XP and Vista under Internet Explorer or Firefox. In the future,
we may also support other platforms and browsers.
* How can I view the video in full screen?
To view in full-screen
mode click on the full-screen icon in the lower right-hand corner of
the player. To exit full-screen mode, press the ESC key on your
keyboard.
* What is the delay time between the gamer and the viewer?
There is approximately a 3-5 second delay between the broadcaster and the receivers under normal network conditions.
* Why can't I connect to a video stream?
The application works
behind most firewalls. However, if you are behind a firewall that
blocks all UDP traffic, the application will not be able to build the
connections it needs to view the stream.
* My personal firewall software prevents the application from running, what do I do?
If you are running
personal firewall software, such as Norton 360, a message may appear
asking you to allow the application to run. Click "Allow". Some
personal firewall software silently blocks unknown applications.
You may need to disable or reconfigure this software and reboot before viewing a live broadcast.
* Can I fast forward the video?
No. Xfire Live Video is a live streaming video.
